In the vibrant landscape of Indian entrepreneurship, Shashi Soni stands as a beacon of resilience, innovation, and social responsibility. Her remarkable journey is a testament to the power of determination and vision, transforming modest beginnings into a legacy of technological and social impact.

Shashi’s entrepreneurial spirit first emerged in 1971 when she founded Deep Transport with a humble initial investment of just Rs 10,000. By 1975, she had already established her independence, venturing into the entertainment industry by opening Deep Mandir Cinema in Mumbai’s Mulund area. The cinema became a successful enterprise, operating until 1980 and laying the groundwork for her future endeavors.

Undeterred by challenges, Shashi pivoted her business focus and established Oxygen Private Limited, a gas manufacturing company in Mysuru. Her entrepreneurial journey took a significant turn in 2005 when she founded Izmo Limited, a cutting-edge software company specializing in automotive technology and e-retailing services with a global reach. As the Chairperson, she continues to guide the company’s strategic growth and innovation.

Beyond her business achievements, Shashi has distinguished herself as a compassionate social activist. Through her involvement with the Deep Janseva Samiti, she has been instrumental in supporting critical social initiatives. Her work focuses on creating opportunities in employment, promoting women’s education, establishing pension schemes, and raising funds to support individuals with disabilities.

Her exceptional contributions have not gone unnoticed. Shashi was honored with the prestigious Padma Shri, a recognition that celebrates her significant impact on Indian industry. Earlier, in 1990, she was named Woman of the Year, acknowledging her pioneering role in business and social welfare. Her expertise is further recognized through her active participation in key industry associations, including the All Indian Industrial Gas Manufacturers Association and the Technical Development Directorate.

Shashi Soni’s story is more than a business success narrative; it’s an inspiring blueprint for aspiring entrepreneurs, especially women, demonstrating how vision, persistence, and a commitment to social good can create transformative change.
